We very much look forward to welcoming you to

Waveney Cottage and hope that your stay with us will be both memorable and enjoyable.

We took over Waveney Cottage on November 19th 1999. This was a new venture for both of us as up to that point we had both worked for local government in the Midlands. Ken was working in a special school for children with behavioural difficulties and prior to that teaching young people and adults with special needs at a further education college. Jane had managed a centre for the unemployed which provided careers guidance and training.   Having been born in Market Rasen she left to work away when she was 18, after her father died we started to visit Market Rasen more often to see her mother. At this point it was only a dream to have a bed and breakfast of our own as whenever we went on holiday we would always stay at B&Bs. One evening Jane's mother rang to say that she noticed a for sale sign at a guest house on the Willingham Road. That night we talked about it and I said, you want to look at it don't you, mmm yes! was the reply. So the following Friday we came to look and the rest is history.

We are here now doing what we both enjoy most, meeting people.
